Are you experiencing skin troubles that won't disappear? Is your skin filled with irritating blemishes? Is your skin lacking the supple and glow in spite of all the trendy skincare and beauty products you've tried? Is your body trying to tell you something? The key to enduring beautiful, healthy skin is proper nutrition, damage prevention, and a consistent skincare daily routine. Our skin is sensitive to both internal and external factors, our facial skin demands special care. A youthful and glowing complexion can be achieved relatively simply through basic health practices and preparation for outdoor environmental factors. AN ENDURING FOUNDATION TO HEALTHY SKIN
Consuming high water content, nutrient-rich foods also provides hydration that skin needs to maintain suppleness, elasticity and glow. There are a variety of fruits and vegetables that are naturally packed with water, and provide the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants essential to radiant, elastic, skin. Choose a diet that is a natural source of Vitamins C and E to reverse the harmful effects of sun exposure, fight skin-damaging pollutants and free radicals, and prevent unwanted fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C is abundant in myriad foods (i.e., citrus fruits, leafy and dark green vegetables, and red bell peppers). If you're the type who has challenges designing a diet around nutrition you have the option to purchase Vitamin C supplements of 500 to 1000 milligrams taken daily will suffice. As little as 400 milligrams of vitamin E provides adequate protection. Vitamins that significantly improve skin health, tone, reduces wrinkles and control acne are Vitamins K and A. For those who have more mature aging skin, antioxidants like alpha-liopoic acid and DMAE are good prevention vitamins against aging skin and neutralizing cell damage caused by outdoor environmental factors. Hyaluronic acid aid skin cells and provide healthy fats for smoother, younger skin. There are five food sources that are rich in hyaluronic acid including bone broth, soy based foods, starchy root vegetables, citrus fruits and leafy greens. What is hyaluronic acid? Hyaluronic acid and essential fatty acids help our skin cells provide healthy fats for smoother, younger looking skin. Meanwhile minerals like copper, selenium and zinc materials contain elastin which contain anti-cancer and anti-acne properties. The application of serums and creams with the natural, organic products and the same essential vitamins and minerals are also essential in maintaining the skin's vitality and youth. Like anything, when applied regularly, once or twice daily, they offer an added layer of protection to already healthy skin regimens. Topical products are best applied immediately after gentle, thorough cleansing to allow maximum absorption. Weekly to bi-weekly exfoliation is proven to enhance absorption of moisture and anti-aging products. Remember, an enduring first step, to a lifetime of healthy skin and well-being is achieved through good dietary habits, being well-prepared for natural environments, and consistent skincare. With this approach, beautiful and vibrant skin is attainable by men and women of any age, in any season. WELLNESS AND SELF-CARE READING LIST I am passionate about learning and reading.
